TOTAL BUSUK INTERVIEW 

Saat ini saya mendapatkan jawaban interview dari TOTAL BUSUK, band dari Samarinda – Kalimantan Timur. Mereka memainkan 'Brutal Barbaric Death Metal' dan mereka juga bermain di banyak gigs di Kalimantan Timur. Pertunjukan yang keren, saya melihat mereka di Sulung Extreme Fest 16 Oct 2011 di Samarinda. Baiklah ini dia interview saya dengan mereka ....Mari kita simak. 

Hails ! Bagaimana kegiatan kalian di markas TOTAL BUSUK ?

Hello Yoedi … Banyak hal besar terjadi disana. Sekarang kita sedang membuat promo berbahaya terbaru dan lalu kami berencana untuk debut album di akhir tahun ini atau di awal tahun depan, dan tentu saja mempersiapkan penampilan kami di beberapa acara Metal di Kalimantan Timur.  

Pertama-tama, Hummm… Saya tau ini adalah pertanyaan membosankan untuk mengawali interview hahaha. mari kita membahas tentang bagaimana band ini terbentuk? Bisakah kamu menjelaskan sejarahnya untuk para pembaca kami ?

Hahaha … Yeah … TOTAL BUSUK  terbentuk pada 2005 di Samarinda – Kalimantan Timur, dengan line up pertama : Agus Busuk (Guitars/Growl), Roin (Bass) dan Fendy (Drums). Seperti band Death Metal lainnya, kami menghadapi banyak masalah, hal itu terjadi beberapa kami, kami mengganti beberapa personil. Dan sekarang, memasuki tahun ke tujuh, kami memiliki line up yang hebat, semenjak 2010, mereka adalah Agus Busuk (Guitars), Puput (Guttural), Ares (Bass) dan Kova (Drums)

Adakah rencana besar dari Total Busuk, untuk menulis materi baru untuk debut album atau lainnya ?

Rencana kami, bila tidak ada hambatan,pada akhir tahun atau awal tahun depan, kami akan masuk studio untuk merekam album pertama kami …lalu kami akan mencari sebuah label yang akan me-releasenya.

Dapatkan kalian memberitau kami, berapa lagu dari Total Busuk yang kalian miliki dari awal hingga sekarang ?

Hahaha, sekitar enam lagu yang kami miliki, dari 2005 hingga 2009, tapi tidak satupun kami buat demo, hanya digunakan untuk pertunjukan … Dan lagu promosi baru dari line up baru 2010, kami memiliki satu lagu 'Sayap Hitam Sang Pendosa', dan materi baru untuk debut album, kami memiliki 7 lagu berbahaya (US Carnivore Barbaric Death Metal) …  Bersiaplah dengan music berbahaya dari kami !

Ceritakan kepada kami mengenai kompilasi kalian dari suatu label/record ?dan apakah kalian puas ?

‘Muda Berpacu’ (2010) dan  Agents Of Brutality 2 (2011). Dan kami bekerja sama pada banyak promosi, seperti Promo pack Samarinda Metal Fest III, Promo Pack Samarinda Metal Fest IV, Promo Pack Sulung Death Fest, dan masih banyak lagi … Dan semua kompilasi adalah hal yang special bagi kami.

Band apa saja yang kalian dengarkan dan band apa saja yang telah member kalian inspirasi ?

Yang paling utama adalah Suffocation, Disgorge (US), Necrophagist, Pyaemia, Pathology, Brodequin, Septycal Gorge, Peshmerga, dan banyak band brutal death metal lainnya yang memberi kami inspirasi dan menciptakan konsep music kami.

Apa pandangan kalian terhadap metal scene saat ini ?

Semakin berkembang dimana-mana. Semakin banyak sekali konsep-konsep dan genre music new metal, dan banyak generasi muda yang mengikutinya. Serangan yang hebat… Metal sampai Mati …

Apakah kalian menyukai bermain di banyak pertunjukan lalu fokus untuk membuat materi baru untuk album pertama ?

Keduanya … Bermain di banyak gigs. Hal itu membentuk mental kami menjadi kuat dan tentu saja akan memperkaya pengalaman kami dalam pertunjukan dan skill, selain itu kami dapat mempromosikan lagu baru kami.

Membuat materi baru, hal itu sangat penting buat kami. Jadi hubungan kedunya sangat erat.

Siapa yang akan kalian sebutkan sebagai inspirasi musik utama kalian ?

Semua gitaris hebat di dunia ini, dan itu adalah, tentu saja, Semua band death metal ..

Apakah kalian bergabung dengan scene di daerah lokal kalian ? dan sebutkan band Death Metal keren di Kalimantan Timur dan tentu saja special di Samarinda ?

Samarinda … memiliki banyak band Death Metal yang keren, seperti Malvomed, Devastation dan Engorging. Mereka memiliki skill yang lengkap, sound yang bagus, dan pertunjukan yang brutal. Tapi yang lainnya juga keren. Samarinda memiliki segalanya tentang Death Metal dan event, seperti Samarinda Death Fest I (2009), dan Sulung Death Fest (2010).

Apakah rencana dari TOTAL BUSUK selanjutnya ?

Terutama menciptakan dan menyelesaikan album pertama, kemudian mencari label dan me-release nya, semoga di awal tahun 2012 dan memperkenalkannya, dan main pada beberapa gigs di dalam dan luar Samarinda dan Kalimantan Timur, untuk mempromosikan dan membuat merchandise.

Dan akhirnya, ada kata-kata penutup untuk para pembaca ?

INTERVIEW: Devastation (Samarinda, Kalimantan Timur, Indonesia)

Here comes another band from Samarinda from the first is Devastation where a few months ago they had completed work on his first demo album given title ‘Mati Itu Solusi’. In the first demo album, there are 6 songs that are really going to destroy your eardrums. Vocal character from ‘Mambox’ very full power and emotional give frightened to them first demo. Ok you better have a short interview I refer with them. 

JY : Hi bro. Congratulations for your latest release demo album 'Mati Itu Solusi' [die is a solution]. So you guys are really pleased with the response that you get until now?

DV : greetings of friendship...for demo ‘Mati Itu Solusi’ I think , there are still many shortcomings, especially the sound problem and we are still not satisfied.

JY : oke , Here our readers want to know more about your band ‘Devastation’.  Because as we know, , not too much deathfreaks outside the city who know about your band but I am very sorry if my perception is wrong hahaha. This is very important to us. Ok can you tell us briefly about the formation of Devastation? Is the first time since starting line-up formed there is a change to this?

DV : Formed from a group of Javanese village youth, the reason being that likes metal music and want to have a metal band heheheh. Starting from Samarinda Javanese village at the 2000 with the line-up is: Mambox (Vocalis), Hans (Drums), Eka (Bassis) and Ujang (Gitaris) and this lasted until 2003. The change of lineup is due to work problems. And line up until now is Bowo (Bassis), Eko (Gitaris), Tavo (Gitaris), Mambox (Vocalis) and Faras (Drums) until 2011 and in the middle of 2011 Faras focus for Engorging as preparation for the tour and pick up the slack drums are replaced by younger brother of Faras, Icun.

JY : Why did you decide to use the name 'Devastation'? Are there any significant meaning to the name?

DV : We decided to use a name …Devastation which indicate the massive destruction. Many incidents on earth, disasters happening around the world … then from that we named Devastation.

JY : Can you tell us about the recording process for the album demo ‘Mati Itu Solusi’? How many songs and whether you're satisfied?

DV : Recording process takes about 4 months.  And there are 6 songs including: Mati itu solusi, Korban mutilasi, Janin suci, Lawan atau binasa, Kehancuran dunia, dan Wajah penguasa.

JY : In your demo album, I really like your vocals style are full of emotion and strong. Did since the formation of Devastation till now your vocal style is like that? Not deep guttural as ever I see before. Can you explain this?

DV : For vocals character I prefer emotional vocal style. Lots of changes due to the inclusion of friends in Devastation.

JY : Can you describe Devastation in terms of music? And who are your major influences in this music?

DV : In 2000 we carry grindcore music, along with a change in line up the Devastation brings brutal death metal. And that influence in our music course bands like Vile, Nile, Pyaemia, Disgorge, Jasad , Death Vomit and etc.

JY : What sort of things do you spit in the making of your lyrics? Is there a special theme song in the making?

DV : Things we spit to the lyrics of our songs are about many of the dead moral, greedy side of human, hypocrisy, suffering to the weak and the social themes of humanity.

JY : Since when did you start listening or like to death metal? Would you like to listen other genres?

DV : Since Junior highschool I like to listen  Metallica, Sepultura and Arul Power Metal era. And ventured in 1999 into an energetic death metal music contained lyrics and rhythm of rock rebellion. Yes we also like to listen to other genres such as dangdut Mix (wuhahaha, cool bro –ed) , Sagita, Power Metal and also Reggae music (ahh if the latter, I also like to listen to his bro bro-ed)

JY : Is there one of you that have a band project than in Devastation?

DV : Yes We have one of the projects that got the band are Faras now he play with Engorging.

JY : What do you think about the development of the metal scene in east Kalimantan generally and in Samarinda in particular? Can you recommend to us about the great bands in your area?

DV : I think the development scene in East Kalimantan fairly rapid development and also the metal events every month. Generation of metalheads growing, especially in Samarinda when viewed from any metal event filled with many metalheads ranging from male to female. Recommended Samarinda death metal band is: Total busuk, Malvomed, Engorging and Abyysal.

JY : Ok before I end this interview, please mentioned 10 best albums Cd of 2011 list according to your version, 5 Bands from overseas and 5 local band?

DV : Hehehe for list the best album 2011 is: Condemned ‘realms of the ungodly’, Putridity-‘degenerating antrophagical euphoria’,Disemboweled ‘crops -vivisection and burning of the bowels’, Beheaded-‘ T.B.A.’,  Vile ‘Metamorphosis’ and for local bands are: Wafat -‘Exhausted Souls’, .Jasad ‘Rebirth [of] Jatisunda’, Death Vomit, Turbidity ‘Suffering Of Human Decapitated’ dan Engorging.

INTERVIEW: Our interview with BEDAARAH, young guns from Samarinda, East Borneo (English version)

BedaArah is one of the death metal bands from edge city Samarinda. The band which consists of 5people and still relatively young try to play death metal music. However, skill and they play can’t be underestimated. And they are now trying to finalize Promo Album who was quite completed in the near future. They performance on the show ‘Sound Of Militant’ last week kept me coming with head banging hahaha and also want to know information about this band. And, my chance to interview them can finally be done at this time. Ok this interview I am with you guys ... please refer BedaArah:

John Yoedi: Hello buddy, how are you? Thanks for your supports for BUSUK WEBZINE and have been willing to do the interview. I and Kieran James (Australia) share in this blog. Ok, what have you done for the time being?

BedaArah: Hello mas Yoedi, hello BUSUK WEBZINE, hello too Sir Kieran James hehehe. Yaaa, thanks a lot too bro. For the moment we again prepare material for EP ALBUM (promo). Possibility after Lebaran (Ied Fitry) began to enter the Recording.

JY: Your band formed in 2010 and is arguably the new band entered the world of death metal stage. Can you tell me about current member from BEDAARAH? And, do you believe the current formation will be more solid and long-lasting, because before you had experienced mutually personnel.

BedaArah: Yep, BedaaraH formed year end 2010. In the first formation Can (gitar), Bagus (drum), Alpi (pasir berbisik) for bass/vokal and at that time our name is not BEDAARAH, but BEDARAH hahahaha. Shortly after BEDAARAH formed Alpi (pasir berbisik) resign. So the formation after it Can (gitar), Bagus (drum), Philip (bass), Angga (vokal). Can, Bagus, Aldi, Angga---Can, Bagus, Pendy, Piras, Dwik---and the formation still same until today hahaha, Can (gitar), Bagus (drum), Piras (gitar), Hery (bass), Dwik (vocal), with passion and attitude, we’re believe with this formation today !! hahaha

JY: Your band performance at ‘Sound Of Militant’ a couple of weeks very awesome and I like to see your performance at that. As the audience enthusiastic at the time very brutal. Especially when your bring cover song ‘Kafir’ from Nile….so perfect. How do you impress after appearing on the show?

BedaArah: Previous thank you for Balikpapan metalheads, wildddd hahaha. Far from perfect from uncle Karl sanders, Dallas Toler, George Kollias, Chris Lollis…hehehe. Happy and of course have new experience, because this is the first time we played at Balikpapan hehehehe.

JY: How you describe about BEDAARAH to your music? Will you describe it more technical death metal or?

Bedaarah: Hmm, if to technical death metal, I don’t think so. We loved to describe as a death metal.

JY: And can you describe about ‘sound instrument’ and the band that was influenced your music style?

BedaArah: There are in some guitar licks in BedaaraH taking element from ‘Sampeq Dayak’ (harvest dance). Actually it much, but for now we still affected by CANNIBAL CORPSE, DEATH, NILE, GORGASM, CRYTOPSY, KATAKLYSM, SLAYER etc.

JY: who is the first have idea to form BEDAARAH and decided to play death metal?

BedaArah: Bagus (drummer), because he’s a first who ask to play death metal, then Can (guitarist) realize it and it turns out we fell in love with this music ahahahah luv u full Death Metal!!

JY: After listening 2 song from your website, The resulting sound is very brutal. Did you have a particularity/your own music style than plagiarizing from other bands?

BedaArah: Thanks you had listening hehehe. Actually we’re open mind, so we’re listening any song/band… then realized to be a music that we think Death metal. So we didn’t know who have similar songs hahaha

JY: How many songs have you produced so far? And are there any plans to make a promo album or a full length album in the near future?

BedaArah: there is 6 songs. In the near future we want to create a new album EP contains 4 songs.

JY: And who was responsible for writing the lyrics and arrange your music? What are the things that can provide inspiration in writing song lyrics?

BedaArah: For lyrics and arrangement usually we make together. But Can usually makes the pattern/ framework lyrics and arrangement.Damage to earth, injustice law in this country and relationship of human-Satan-God.

JY: Just a side question. How do you think about Busuk Webzine? In Busuk Webzine we have tried to use two versions of the English language and Bahasa Indonesian.

BedaArah: Busuk Webzine’s cool, top top dah (is a good…) good article and the coolest is the article can read of the Australian hahaha

JY: If you will release the first full length album, are you going to cooperate with labels/records from outside or local? And, which one labels/records that appropriate invite to collaborate?

BedaArah: want outside/local just beat it hahaha. Hmm, the important think the label/records is available hahaha

JY : As we all know, a lot of death metal bands from abroad who do tour / show to Indonesia as Suffocation, Misery Index, Dying Fetus, Nile and much more. And it is an honor for all of us because Indonesia has a very much death metal fan base. What is your opinion about this? If one day, is there any hope you can play on the same stage with your band influenced, which band do you want?

BedaArah: Proud outstanding, because Indonesia is also a field of metal bands. Of course there are SLAYER, CANNIBAL CORPSE, NILE.

JY : I have know that in Samarinda this time the  death metal scene has been growing rapidly and often holding various metalfest events made by some event organizers. Do you often follow the development of death metal scene in your city Samarinda? Are there any bands that you can recommend to us who have good prospects for the future?

BedaArah: Samarinda’s have much cool bands, of course supports your local band, till die!! hahaha. Articulomortis, Pasir Berbisik, Der Kaizer, Ortodok, Macrobid much more hahaha if it can please interview all haha.

JY: Ok buddy, thank you so much for taking time to answer interview from us. Always success BEDAARAH. Any last message for all metalheads?

BedaArah : okay, Always success for BUSUK WEBZINE !!God created us with a difference. But the different has burned by the range of metalheads in this archipelago!! yeaah
