It’s higly recommended to all f***ing brutal death fans ! 9/10.

Created To Kill band from Kentucky Death Metal – USA has released the new second full length album ‘Death’s Construction’ with 10 tracks and a total duration of about 33 minutes and it's released by two label are Ungodly Ruins Productions from Russian and Pagan Pride Records from USA.  It’s been a very long time waiting, for almost five years since the previous album ‘Worship Or Die’ which was released in 2008. We have to give them two thumbs up for their hard work over the past 5 years because the new second album is really very promising and very different than the previous album. Starting with the first song ‘Your Fascination With Death’, this song directly hits our eardrums with a surprising blasting drums from Paul Good and wants us to go head banging. Then followed by the song ‘Object Of Perfect Torture’ and here we can hear very brilliant technical guitars from Steve Forbes, also the characters vocals are not monotonous. ‘Into the Frozen Tomb’ which is the third song on this album and here the character growl and scream vocals are alternateted. Well, overall.....The sound for this album is very heavy and very ideal for all brutal death metal bands. And also musically for the new second album the sound is very great and very brutal, raw and pure sick. All guitar riffs from Steve Forbes are really f***ing sick and technical without giving mercy; the growl and scream vocals typical of Abe Simmerman are f***ing great too, blasting sick drums from Paul Good to make this second album more sadistic, on this second album Phil Good has joined the band as a Bass player and makes their music more brutal and sick. As we all know Phil Good is also a member of Necrotic Disgorgement and also twin brother of Paul Good and this time he is part of Created To Kill. They are very brilliant for composing the music for Created To Kill, It’s very f***ing great and also the sound produced is very perfect. For the artwork on the cover of the album it is very professionally done by Shaman Gibson and it’s f***ing gore artwork.....looks like mutilation and victim cut using chainsaws......so f***ing sick art ! Death’s Construction album is really amazing compared to the previous album, with Old school brutal death metal. We all must have their latest album and It’s highly recommended to all f***ing brutal death fans ! 9/10

KYDM ‘KENTUCKY DEATH METAL’ - Interview with Steve Forbes ‘Guitarist of CREATED TO KILL’

CREATED TO KILL band from Kentucky Death Metal / KYDM – USA. Honestly I know this band long time ago when I heard their split with Decomposed band from Indonesia. That’s great split. So that’s why I am so curious with this band and want to know more about them. And this time, Steve Forbes gave me chance to do an interview and talking about Created To Kill. Well I don’t want talking too much here lol, so lets check Busuk webzine interview with Created To Kill …..hell yeahhh \m/

Hi Steve, how are you ? John Yoedi here. I hope you are well there. Thank you for taking some time and agreeing to this interview with Busuk Webzine. Kieran James (Australia) and I share this blog. So, how are things going for ‘Created To Kill’ camp at the moment ?

SF: Real busy writing new material.

JY : To start off with, tell me who’s in the band, what they do and anything they did before joining to CREATED TO KILL ?

SF: Abe Simmerman is our Vocalist/Bass player and Paul Good (guitarist from Solidification) is on drums.

JY : Would you like to tell me about your last album ‘Worship or Die’. How has it been received by fans/media so far ? Any bad response ?

SF: It has had mixed reviews most bad responses have been for the production not the content.

JY : The production and sound of the last album was fantastic. How did you get such a great sound ?  And who are some of the largest influences on CREATED TO KILL ?

SF: We were not happy with the sound of it ourselves it was recorded in a guy’s basement not a real studio. The drum machine was all one track so you couldn’t adjust the levels properly. Some of our influences include Megadeth, Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Broken Hope, most of the mid-90’s era metal/death metal.

JY : How would you yourself describe CREATED TO KILL in one sentence?

SF: CTK is fast and brutal.

JY : You´re signed to Ruptured Records/Riotous Records. How did you hook up with Dave Hyde of Riotous Records ? And what kind of label would you consider signing/deal with ?

SF: We came across Dave through another local band. We had done previous releases with Ruptured Records, but they needed help financially releasing Worship Or Die so we signed on with Riotous to fund half the record. We are looking to sign on with a more established label now.

JY : Let's talk a bit about your song writing process. How does a song usually develop - do you first start with a lyric, melody, chord progression, or something else? Do you begin writing a song in your head before you pick up an instrument?

SF: I do a combination of all those things, some come to me one way some another.
I have to kind of let the song write it’s self, just however it comes to me.

JY : I'm interested in your musical roots - which musicians and songwriters have been the greatest influence?

SF: Dave Mustaine, Kerry King, Eric Rutan, and Jack Owen have been my biggest influences.

JY : When did you decide to start a music career ? Which bands inspired you back in the day to start playing death metal ?

SF: I wanted to be in a band ever since I first started listening to music. I would say early Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, Morbid Angel, and Deicide.

JY : As I know you are as founder of CREATED TO KILL with your friend Greg Brewer (Guitarist). But not for long time Greg Brewer left the band. Whats happened ?

SF: We had been trying for over 10 years to get something going. We had a real hard time finding members and he just wasn’t feeling it anymore.

JY : In 2008, Paul Good joined to the band as Drums. Would you like to tell us, What made him so interested came to Created To Kill?

SF: We had been friends with Paul for years and had played several shows with Solidification. He knew we had been looking for a drummer for a while and he started learning drums and I asked him to come down to jam and we just hit it off.

JY : What’s the Kentucky Death Metal scene like ? Are there any less well knows Kentucky bands that you would recommend ?

SF: The scene here isn’t the greatest most people won’t come out to a locals only show. Aeons Of Eclipse is a great local band that aren’t real well known.

JY : Your has started ‘CREATED TO KILL’ been around for 9 years….thats amazing…man. How’s the ride been so far ? And how confident are you feeling that this line up is the right one ?

SF: Yeah it definitely been years in the making. It’s great what we have accomplished so far. The line-up we have now is strongest we have ever had.

JY : What makes a brutal death metal band sound unique and what makes CREATED TO KILL stand out of the crowd ? What is the musical and philosophical background of the members of CREATED TO KILL ?

SF: Many brutal death metal bands sound pretty similar we try to add different elements of just metal to try and create a unique sound. All our backgrounds pretty much are the same, we all grew up in the Mid 90’s when the Florida death-metal scene was exploding and there weren’t a million different death metal bands out there to listen to just those main ones coming out of Florida.

JY : What kits/equipments do you use to record and do you use the same amp/guitars etc for live shows ?

SF: I am using a BC Rich V and a Fender head with Randall cabs for live shows at the moment. I plan to use this set-up to record our next cd.

JY : I seen some member from metal bands had have Records/Labels such as : Unique Leader Record by Eric Lindmark (Guitaris of Deeds Of Flesh) , Comatose Music by Steve Green (Guitarist of Lust Of Decay), New Standard Elite by Daniels Osborn ( Drums of Inherit Disease) and If I am not wrong….you are owner from ‘Blood Letter Records’, is it right ? When do you started with it ? And is it your real job or just small business ?

SF: Yes I am the owner of Bloodletter Records, I started it in 2004 under the name Azeroth Records and I released seven albums before selling the name to Blizzard Entertainment. I then changed the name to Bloodletter. I have to work a real job, the label is just a side project.

JY : What do you think about using the internet as a tool for promoting yourself and your music? And what are your thoughts on piracy. Do download hurt the band or just the corporations ? Do you see it as a positive or a negative?

SF: I think it’s great, I don’t think we would have been able to get us out there or book tours without it. As far as piracy I think it really depends on what level you are on and what type of music you play. Most metal heads want an actual cd, but they do like to be able to listen to it ahead of time.

JY : Will you going to complain them if you see your debut album available on their site or blogs as free download albums ? Maybe if someone to post a few songs (2-3) up to help promote, it that would be cool or check their song by their site such as myspace, facebook or reverbnation. So what do you think about this ?

SF: The way I look at it is it gets us out there to more people and if they like what they hear hopefully they’ll buy the cd or at least a t-shirt or something.

JY : And if you were not a musician, what do you think you would have done as a day-to-day job ?

SF: I do have a day job, it’s in the shipping logistics field.

JY : What would you do, if you were sitting at the bar, Jennifer Lopez and Angelina Jolie would come in, sit down next to you and order big glass of milk ?

SF: Say hello.

JY : If you ever had the chance to play with live a big, famous metal, which one bands would you like to choose ? Slayer,Exodus,Hammerfall,Testament,Metallica or ?

SF: Slayer or Megadeth would be awesome.

JY : What do you think about Busuk webzine ?

SF: It’s an awesome site, got some killer interviews.

JY : Do you look and enjoy shows in many place in USA ? Many bands seem to lose money on touring/shows and can barely pay for their food when touring. Do you have it the same way or no ? Have you ever been playing or touring outside USA ?

SF: We have toured about half the USA and yes we do lose money or break even on touring. We love doing it though so we keep on. No we haven’t played outside of the states yet, but we are looking into doing so as soon as we can.

JY : What are your plans for the near future ? such as shows/touring or. Have you already finished writing new material for upcoming release ? And will you keep going to Riotous Records ?

SF: We are about 75% done writing material for our 2nd full length. We are also playing some fests and shows at the same time within the USA, no full blown touring until it’s recorded though. We will move on to a more established label. We are also in the process of editing a DVD to be released this year on touring footage from 2009-2011.

JY : Thanks again Steve for taking the time to interview. Best of luck with CREATED TO KILL. Anything you’d like to add?

SF: Thanks for the interview and please check our website www.createdtokill.com for details about are upcoming CD and DVD.
