INTERVIEW: DEPOK, WEST JAVA BRUTAL DEATH-METAL - MY INTERVIEW WITH BRAD OF TEWAS

My interview with Brad (vocal) of TEWAS (DEPOK, West Java, Indonesia brutal death-metal)

Kieran James: Hi, mate. Thanks very much for agreeing to do interview with our website www.busukwebzine666.blogspot.com. These are the questions:

KJ: First tell us the band history, like when you start and who are the members?

Brad: [We] originated from a desire, vision & mission with personnel who formed officially in Depok, West Java date 25-08-2010 with the line-up Blank (vocals), Cinonk (guitar), Rizky (drumz). We brought the genre slamming brutal death metal and [it] has [the] characteristics [of] down-tempo death metal, low distortion character which sounds a bit heavy and with gore lyrics, guttural vocals and composition.

Our music is influenced by CEPHALOTRIPSY, INTRACRANIAL BUTCHERY, CONDEMNED, WAKING THE CADAVER, EXTERMINATION DISMEMBERMENT, CEREBRAL INCUBATION, INFINITE DEFILEMENT, etc.

In early 2011 we released an album that contains three tracks, namely: “Suddenly Death”, “Dying in the Dust Vulcanik” & “Death of Adulterers”. [We write] our lyrics about murder, penyiksa’an man to man and nature!

KJ: What cities have you played shows?

Brad: 2 July 2011 (nabila cafe Ciracas) - 22-July-2011 (Cade-Jakarta white barn) - 24-Dec-2011 (citayem meledug III-Bogor) and so on lain...

KJ: How is progress for your demo or album?

Brad: We started releasing promo albums 1 # early 2011 that contains three lagu [songs]. We hope to finalize the first promo album 2011 in mid-December.

KJ: How to describe your style and what bands do you like?

Brad: Slamming brutal death. We are not too concerned with style, our music empengaruhi like: CEPHALOTRIPSY [USA], INTRACRANIAL BUTCHERY [USA], CONDEMNED [UK], WAKING THE CADAVER [USA], EXTERMINATION DISMEMBERMENT [BELARUS], CEREBRAL INCUBATION [USA], INFINITE DEFILEMENT [AUSTRALIA], etc.

KJ: I know Bandung is huge Death Metal City with JASAD and BLEEDING CORPSE and TURBIDITY and JIHAD and many great bands. What is the scene like in your city of Depok, West Java?

Brad: In our town there is DEAD SQUAD, PUNISHMENT OF THE GRAVE, PROSATANICA, DLLBAND TRAUMA, [the scene is] no less than Bandung.

KJ: What are your goals and plans for the band?

Brad: Our plans [are] that our music can be more respected in the eyes of the metalheads.

KJ: What jobs do you have outside of metal?

Brad: I work as a labourer in the pharmaceutical pt.taisho Indonesia.

KJ: Is there any problem playing metal shows in your city for example police problem?

Brad: To the problem ke’amanan event, allhamdulillah running smoothly.

KJ: Last one: Any message or word for your fans?
